Dear Church of the Open Bible,
This is the season of summer ministries like camps and vacation Bible schools. I’m sure many of you have personal stories of attending these ministries growing up. Here at COB, we have 44 kids attending our SOAR! VBS where they are learning about taking the love of Jesus to the ends of the earth. We have a great team of volunteers and helpers and we’re thankful for breaks in the rain to enjoy being outside.
Just a 10 minute drive north of us is another VBS going on in Maskwacis, being led by Central Alberta Youth Unlimited. Continue to pray for the opportunity to share the gospel with children on the reserve, and for grace and strength for their leaders.
In addition to these are a number of Christian camps serving children and families across the country. Many of you have wondered about how things are going at Pine Ridge Bible Camp, an NCEM camp in northern Saskatchewan, which has had to cancel camps because of wildfires. The latest news is that the closest fire to the camp (only 3 km away!), has not grown much in size over the last few days, but it is still very dry. Please pray for rain for the area around the camp.
